As part of our teacher CPD we have been looking at ways to develop being reflective about learning through noticing and narrating. Thanks for everyone's participation to 'improve our drawing as scientists'. We are now looking forward to hearing about how the children get on with their noticing and narrating by reflecting on their scientific drawings of a butterfly. Please click on the comments link above to leave some feedback on what you have tried and how things have gone. 6 weeks after the CPD session, the learning stories are beginning to develop and evolve. Originally I was developing a storyboard approach with teachers but recently I have been inspired by some of the more open approaches. These evolved from the early years where we began to scribe for the children a key learning message for themselves that retell to themselves and the class. I also have used a similar approach with older children as part of routine pupil voice opportunities. Now I am aware of the power of learning narratives I am able to use them more spontaneously. See what you think and leave a comment about your experiences or questions.
